Mentoring New mentors – suitable for your needs?

Do you have questions, need tips or would you like a sympathetic ear to discuss an individual matter outside your usual environment?

At HAI Mentoring, you will find people to talk to about a wide range of topics, such as studying, doctoral studies, research, job hunting, career planning, working and living abroad. Two new mentors joined our team a few months ago. We briefly introduce them here. You can find a more detailed description under the linked mentoring profile. Dr med. Berk Aykut

Studies: Medicine

Thanks to his extensive work in cancer research and his position as a surgeon at Duke University, NC, USA, Dr Aykut offers important insights for students who want to pursue a career in research in the USA. Not only does Dr Aykut offer assistance in matters that are important during their studies, such as exam preparation or studying abroad, but he also is a valuable contact during the preparations for their further careers, offering support in areas such as career choices and application tips as well as doctoral studies and networking.

Studies: Educational sciences

Carina Haas has a wide range of experience in the fields of education, business education and social work. She supports students in their studies, career planning, networking, but also in private areas such as socialising. Haas offers support for every individual path in the academic world.

Prof. Dr Markus Hinder

Studies: Medicine

Markus Hinder is a physician and scientist with a keen interest in all aspects of modern drug research and development, from pharmacology to drug approval. He has extensive clinical experience in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, thrombosis and metabolic disorders. His scientific focus is on drug development, from pharmacology to clinical trial methodology and decision-making. He advises on the topics of stays abroad and degrees and offers exchange of experience as well as support with doctoral studies and networking.

Dr rer. nat. Christoph Zimmer

Studies: Mathematics, Biology, Biosciences and Epidemiology

Christoph Zimmer works for the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence. He is looking forward to a general exchange on the topic of studying and living in Heidelberg and in particular offers support in preparing further career steps – both in the scientific system and in the topics of career choice and change, job search strategies and working abroad.

There you will find other network members of different ages, from a wide range of disciplines, industries and professional fields, from science and research as well as from regions in Germany and other countries.
